SONIQUE’s music journey kicked off when she was eight, when she first picked up a guitar. From school concerts to years at the East Rand Youth Choir, international competitions, and open mic nights, she has honed her skills before embarking on her journey as a solo artist. Sonique is not just a performer; she’s a passionate creator who finds joy in the process of crafting original music.
Her blend of alternative electro pop infused with an edgy twist is undeniably soulfully authentic and inspirational. Her music is not just heard; it is felt. Her compositions are captivating and have an infectious energy that sparks movement and ignites the spirit.

After releasing ‘Why Are We Still Here’ in July as her first official song to market, Sonique’s song ‘Marinade’ written and produced in collaboration with RADA a humanitarian organization based in South Africa released on all streaming platforms on the 2nd of August 2024. ‘Marinade’ is SONIQUE’s ‘launch song’ and the official start to an exciting music career, which has included national and international exposure – press, radio and television. “The support, guidance and encouragement she has received has been phenomenal – it truly does take an entire village”.
‘Finding Your Way’ was SONIQUE’s third big release in 2024 which was followed by a RADA Unearthed co-lab track she was part of called ‘Together We Are Stronger’ produced by Mark Beling and written by Neil Engel, it features the voices of several talented artists including iSandi, Ramelo, Pedro Barbosa, Lia Elise, Ross Learmonth, SEVVEN, Me-Ko, SeanJ and Mark Beling.
In March 2025, SONIQUE opened the new year with ‘My Calling’, followed by her first ballad ‘Uncaged’ in June 2025 and ‘Black & White’ in September 2025 continuing her rise as a bold and expressive voice in music. With each release, SONIQUE delivers raw honesty and emotional depth, crafting music that resonates with listeners seeking connection, healing and hope.
